schiller, A. arthur (1902-1977), American specialist in Coptic law. He was appointed lecturer at Columbia University in 1929, assistant professor of law in 1930, associate professor of law in 1937, professor of law in 1949, and professor emeritus in 1971. He published Coptic documents and many outstanding contributions to Coptic law.
