erman, adolf (1854-1937), German Egyptologist. He was professor at Berlin University, a founder of the Berlin school, a teacher of W. E. crum, Georg steindorff, and others, working in all fields of Egyptology and Coptology. He published Coptic literary and nonliterary texts.
